About WiB
QUT Women in Business (WiB) is a student-led society that provides a platform for young, aspiring leaders to develop skills both professionally and personally. Since the society's foundation in 2016, WiB has strived to support women in the community and provide opportunities for women to grow their professional identity and gain insight into the business industry. In all endeavours, WiB aims to empower, equip, and excite all of our members to achieve their personal goals and career ambitions.

WiB members are a progressive and motivated community of multi-disciplinary students who are passionate about developing gender equality, and fostering meaningful connections between students, academic staff, and professionals. The WiB Team promotes this success through a well-rounded focus on the five pillars of Industry, Workshop, Volunteering, Socials and Mentorship.

In 2025, our club was honoured with four nominations at the QUT Guild Awards. We are proud to have received two awards:
-
Community Impact Award - recognising the positive difference we make within the QUT community by creating spaces for students to connect, collaborate, and grow.
-
Professional Development Award – celebrating our commitment to preparing students for their future careers by equipping them with the skills, confidence, and experiences needed to succeed.
Industry
The WiB Industry Pillar exposes members to events where they can build real-world connections and long lasting relationships with representatives from our corporate partners and top-tier firms.

Workshop
Workshop events provide a great opportunity for members to have a more informal and personal interaction with corporate representatives as they share valuable skills from their area of expertise.

Volunteering
Our Volunteering Pillar provides opportunities for our members to engage in philanthropic endeavours to support and give back to their communities whilst raising funds and awareness for charity.

Socials
WiB recognises the power of women supporting women, and believe that we have the responsibility to facilitate events to bring our members closer together and form invaluable personal and professional connections.

Mentorship
Guidance from our accomplished third-year executives and potential input from fellow members, all aimed at steering participants
through of university life, social dynamics, and professional pursuits.
